The necessity to remove jewelry for an MRI depends entirely on the radiologist's policy. Some may insist on removal, while others may allow you to keep non-magnetic pieces on, as has been my experience. 

Should you require an MRI, surgery, or any medical procedure that necessitates the removal of your permanent jewelry, you can cut the item at the jump ring. Afterwards, you can return for a complimentary rewelding service.
